Blomvåg Fjord Hotel - 2020
Blomvåg Fjord Hotel – 2020

During our ownership of Blomvåg Fjord Hotel from 1992 to 1996, there were, at times, upwards of ninety sub-contractors working on the project. They were involved with refurbishing, upgrading, and carrying out large construction tasks on three main building structures, upgrading them to the most recent Norwegian hotel’s restaurant fire escape standards. The main pier was extended and other branching piers upgraded. The majority of this work was done while parts of the hotel accommodation wings were active and staffed. We also worked offshore during the initial and end phase of the whole project.

Accomplishing increasing the market value by nine million NOK during a three-year period, virtually without financial backing apart from our offshore income, combined with the hotel/restaurant cash flow was, to put it mildly, extremely difficult. I divested my shares of the hotel in 1996.

Blomvåg is a village in Øygarden municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located in the central part of the island of Blomøyna, surrounding the inner part of the Blomvågen fjord. The economy is based on the fishing industry; historically, it was also a whaling port.
