Subsea Experience / Abridged

Subsea Experience
SAT Diving Bell

Initially, my oil & gas subsea experience included non-destructive testing at the CCB base, followed by non-destructive testing offshore on rigs combined with inshore diving along the Norwegian coastline. From June of 1991, this included saturation diving offshore and subsea intervention in forty sectors worldwide functioning in various capacities. These included major subsea intervention projects and contracts with, among others, MPSV Far Saga and the AHT MPSV Maersk Asserter major yard/dock conversions; Greater Plutonio; Vigdis & Tordis manifolds; Kaldstø; Draugen; Ciba; Frigg / Statpipe/ Emden; Ormen Lange; Vesterled; Heidrun; Girassol “MATIS” tie-ins; Britannia Satellites; Saxi Batiqe; Heimdal & Grane; Moho Bilindo; greater Plutonio; Frade; Pluto; Gumusut Kakap; Wintershall; EG3PB; Lan Do; GDF; Gjøa; Vega; Norne; Gorgon-Janz; Holstein Spar; HHI; MLS; GOM; BDM; SPDC 48″ repair scope; WND gas field; four Decks; ARABIA; Hasbah II; Snorre EXP Bundle Tow & installation & 28 Jackets for MRJN, ZULF, SFNY& RBYN.

During these years, a wide spectre of giant and, at times, very complicated offshore projects have been performed. The various vessels’ safety performances have, thankfully, been outstanding throughout the years, virtually without personnel injury-LTA due to the high safety standards set by Stolt Nielsen Seaways; Stolt ETPM; Stolt Comex; Stolt Offshore; Acergy and presently Subsea 7.

Subsea Experience – JOB POSITIONS

Since May-1998, I’ve primarily worked as a shift supervisor (bridge engineer) / or in equivalent positions. From 2006 up to the present, I have been working with both ultra-deep-water and very shallow fields, and flexible and rigid pipe lay on the state-of-the-art vessels: MPSV PLV Toisa Proteus, MPSV PLV Polar Queen, RPLV Falcon7, RPLB Acergy Antares, RPLV-HL Sapura 3000, FPLV Normand Oceanic and RPLV HL Seven Champion. The vessels have been active in: West African, Australian, Asian, North American, South American, Scandinavian, European, Middle Eastern, and North African Mediterranean waters.

Listed below is a summary of Subsea 7 S.A. (ex-Stolt Nielsen Seaways / Stolt ETPM / Stolt Comex Seaways / Stolt Offshore / Acergy) group’s thirty-two vessels and platforms I have worked on board during twenty-nine years and eleven months (5,470 days), offshore functioning in various capacities between June 1991 and March 2021. When including naval and civilian inshore and offshore inspection vessel days, since the age of eighteen I have spent 6,537 active days during a thirty-six-year-long career working in the marine environment, retiring in good standing on 31 March 2021.
